We welcome you to The Stem Cell Academy – ophthalmology Course in historic city İstanbul, Turkiye .

The idea behind this course is to bring together the most prestigious doctors with new ophthalmology practices involving regenerative surgery techniques.

This course will be open for ophthalmologist whose clinical practice is ready for upgrading to the regenerative world.

We will offer one full day of “Live” surgery in the theatre on state-of-the art regenerative techniques, parallel with a unique “Introductory Session” with hands-on for newcomers to this exciting new subspecialty. You will be supervised by professors with at least 10 years of experience in both clinical and laboratory in stem cells.

The social activities will include historical tours, gourmet tasting options with convivial meals and a welcome dinner in Bosphorus on Saturday evening.

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE IN OPHTHALMOLOGY

HANDS-ON PRACTICAL TRAINING COURSE

Part I. PRP, SVF, Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Stem Cells in Ophthalmology

In this part we will focus to future potential therapies such as platelet rich plasma, stromal vascular fractions and mesenchymal stem cells for ophthalmological diseases, the diagnosis and management of the diseases.

At the end of the course,
participants will know:

• How to diagnose retinal dystrophies and optic nerve diseases eligible for regenerative therapies.
• New therapeutic options for the treatment of degenerative retina and optic nerve diseases
• How to prepare the optimal Platelet-rich plasma, stromal vascular fractions, and stem cells (hands
on activity)
• Patient selection for regenerative therapies.
• Preparation of the patient for the surgery
• Ophthalmological tests including optical coherence tomography, visual field, electrophysiological
tests
(VEP, ERG and mf ERG) and full field stimulus test.
• Application ways of regenerative therapies to the eye.
• Postoperative period, Follow-up examinations
• Preparation of the patient for the surgery (In the Clinic)
• Live surgery (In the operation room)

– To diagnose retinal dystrophies and optic nerve diseases and to select patients which are eligible for regenerative therapies.

– To learn application ways of regenerative therapies to the eye.
